"An important part of the job is building effective networks with colleagues across Audit Scotland"

I have been with Audit Scotland since it was set up in 2000. Before that, I worked in a range of audit related jobs in both the private and public sector. The work here is varied, challenging and satisfying and you can see how Audit Scotland's role in holding to account and helping to improve makes a real contribution to better public services in Scotland.

Portfolio Managers in Audit Scotland have a key role in the business. This includes the day to day management of teams involved in delivering performance studies, taking the lead in developing how we go about our work and contributing to the overall management of the organisation. An important part of the job is building effective networks with colleagues across Audit Scotland to ensure we are 'joined up' in the way we approach our work. External networks are equally important -
representing Audit Scotland and working with our stakeholders to understand their perspective, get across what we are trying to achieve and maximise the impact of our work.

Our staff come from a range of backgrounds. The experience and expertise they bring, coupled with their commitment and the development opportunities provided by Audit Scotland, results in strong teams across the organisation. As Portfolio Managers work closely with the most senior people in the organisation, there are opportunities to learn and develop your skills and take on new and interesting responsibilities - it's clear that your views and the work you do at Audit Scotland are valued.
